Job summary

Lakeview Post Acute is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to administer and document oral and topical medications for residents, following facility policies and procedures.

You will verify resident identity, ensure proper labeling and charting, and promptly report any medication errors or reactions. The role requires a state-approved training program and licensure, with collaboration across nursing, physicians, and pharmacy staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• Must be a licensed Medication Aide having completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with state laws.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used for residents and ordered by the attending physician.
• Verify resident identity before administering medication and maintain accurate charting of medications.
• Report medication errors or adverse reactions and participate in QA programs and facility surveys as required.
• Follow facility policies regarding labeling, disposal, and receipt of medications and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
