Job summary

Hcshiring is seeking a Medication Technician Assistant to care for residents and assist with medication administration per physician orders and Individual Service Plans. The role reports to the Wellness Director and offers multiple shifts.

Responsibilities include verifying resident identity, documenting drug administration, and ensuring compliance with regulations while delivering compassionate care to older adults.

Qualifications

• Authorized by the applicable state governing authority to assist or administer medication.
• Meets requirements of state assisted living medication assistant guidelines.
• Experience with medication assistance with older adults preferred.
• Interested in working with older adults.
• Demonstrates organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and/or assist with self-administration of prescribed medication under RN/LPN supervision.
• Verify resident identity and record drug details on records.
• Present medication and observe ingestion or application, assist or administer per procedures.
• Take vital signs or monitor residents for reactions; report changes to Wellness Manager.
• Document reasons prescribed drugs are not ingested; maintain complete care records.
• Administer via oral, topical, eye, ear, nose, rectal, transdermal, sublingual and buccal routes per guidelines.
• May receive and restock medication supplies from the pharmacy.
• Complete required annual medication training.
• Provide personal care to residents with compassion.
• Assist with bed baths, skin/hair/nail/mouth care; support mobility and ambulation.
• Maintain electronic medical records and ensure accuracy and compliance.
