Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. The role supports activities of daily living, maintains safety and documentation, and communicates effectively with physicians, families, and supervisors to preserve resident independence.

Responsibilities include medication distribution, vital signs checks, insulin administration (where certified), and collaboration

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification is required.
• Insulin certification is preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care including medicine distribution per individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document all observations, incidents, interventions, and daily medication care.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely MAR documentation and narcotic counts.
• Check and record vital signs, insulin administration, and glucose monitoring as assigned.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility, including bathing and feeding.
• Promote safety and preventative care, following facility policies and procedures.
