Job summary

The Waters of Wakarusa is seeking Qualified Medication Aides (QMAs) to administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role requires adherence to federal/state regulations, documentation on MAR, and vigilant monitoring of residents for drug reactions and safety.

Must hold a current QMA license and a high school diploma or equivalent. Flexible scheduling and a comprehensive benefits package are offered to support patient care and staff well-being.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current QMA, unencumbered state license and ability to provide documentation.
• Adhere to resident rights and facility policies.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications (oral, PRN, inhalers, nebulizer if nurse approves).
• Monitor residents for drug reactions and report to nurse.
• Record medications given on MAR and document treatments.
• Monitor vital signs and calculate dosages.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and respond to needs promptly.
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
