Job summary

South Bay OBGYN is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist in West Islip, NY. The role involves managing a high-volume call center, scheduling patient appointments and tests, and verifying demographics and insurance information.

You will record messages accurately and coordinate with providers while maintaining schedules and delivering empathetic patient care. Evening shifts are required and prior medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required.
• Minimum 2 years medical office clerical experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and phone etiquette with patients.
• Ability to type 40 words per minute.
• Evening shifts required.

Responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of calls promptly.
• Screen calls for urgency and respond with care and efficiency.
• Schedule patient appointments and diagnostic testing for all providers.
• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information when appropriate.
• Accurately record patient messages and route to the provider or staff.
• Maintain provider schedules per practice guidelines.
