Job summary

Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Day Shift to support a busy clinic. You will perform vitals, room patients, assist with procedures, and document in the EMR under provider supervision.

Maintain aseptic technique, prepare supplies, assist with immunizations, injections, and coordinate with the health care team. Prior clinic experience is helpful and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a CMA or RMA credential within the first year.
• Completion of a CAAHP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of procedures and use diagnostic equipment as assigned.
• Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Recognize urgent needs and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
• Support interdisciplinary communication and care planning with the health care team.
• Maintain aseptic technique and assist with immunizations and injections.
• Maintain supplies and room readiness for patient exams and procedures.

Education

CAAHP/ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program

BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months of hire

CMA or RMA certification must be obtained within first year
