Job summary

Trinity Health MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time day-shift role in the Des Moines area. You will deliver patient care, take vital signs, prepare for exams, and assist with procedures under provider supervision.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited MA program and will obtain required certifications within a year, with BLS within 3 months. Strong teamwork, communication, and computer skills are essential to support equitable patient care.

Qualifications

• Must complete an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
• Must obtain CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/NPCE MA within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in Windows, email and MS Office.
• English reading/writing and effective communication with patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care with preparation, vital signs, and documentation.
• Administer medications and immunizations under provider guidance.
• Prepare and organize patient charts; coordinate tests and follow-ups.
• Schedule procedures and ensure patient confidentiality.
• Support training of new colleagues and cross-coverage as needed.
