Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program with externship/internship.
• Credentialed MA options include CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA or MA-Non-Credentialed I with MA eligibility.
• EMT or Paramedic training may be accepted in lieu of MA certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
• Perform gap-in-care tasks, tracking tests, and manage supply/medication ordering.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Completed MA program and MA externship/internship

EMT program or Paramedic program

MA certification (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NHPA) desired
