Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Southeast Michigan is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers, greet patients, take histories, record vitals, assist with exams, tests, and specimen collection.

You will administer medications per directions, educate patients and families, coordinate care, and liaise between patients and clinicians while contributing to quality improvement and care excellence in a mission-driven, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus completion of accredited MA program and externship/internship or EMT/Paramedic training.
• MA credential options include CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/CMAC; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

Education

High School Diploma or GED; MA program with externship/internship; EMT/Paramedic programs; or Certified Athletic Trainer; MA credentialing may be pursued
