Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, coordinate care, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

The role involves coordinating care, communicating test results, and educating patients and families to improve health outcomes, in a mission-driven, collaborative environment across Southeast Michigan’s network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited MA program and externship/internship; EMT or Paramedic training or Certified Athletic Trainer preferred.
• If credentialed, maintain current MA recertification CEUs.
• Minimum 0–1 year of clinical experience preferred; alternative: 2+ years of clinical support experience in a community clinic.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

Education
