Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering excellent patient care. You will welcome patients, document histories, assist with exams, testing, and specimen collection, and help coordinate care.

You will work under supervision, ensure accurate documentation, provide patient education, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within a team‑oriented, mission‑driven environment serving Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• Highest priority is completion of an accredited MA program/externship or approved substitute (EMT/Paramedic options)
• Minimum 0–1 year of clinical experience, or 2+ years in a community clinic with testing/assistance duties
• Current CPR certification preferred or required per role

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare them for appointments, document histories and vital signs
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients
• Provide patient and family education to improve health outcomes
• Coordinate care and serve as liaison between patients and providers
• Support quality improvement and disease management programs
