Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant who serves as the first point of contact for patient care, handling administrative duties while supporting clinical tasks in a busy practice.

You will perform pre-visit planning, collect histories and vitals, room patients, assist with procedures, collect specimens, administer meds as directed, and maintain precise EHR/EMR documentation including HEDIS/Stars measures.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of MA school/training program or CMA/RMA or 5+ years experience with provider approval.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type.
• Obtain and record medical history and vital signs.
• Room patients and assist healthcare providers with procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Prepare and administer medications under provider direction.
• Ensure accurate EHR/EMR documentation incl. HEDIS/Stars measures.
• Utilize skills to make an impact.
