Job summary

Atrius Health in eastern Massachusetts seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures, perform pre-visit tasks and ensure EMR readiness. You will help with patient prep, vital signs, and testing, contributing to a collaborative care team within a value-based system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency; Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patient for examination; Measures vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, weight, and height.
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department.
• Ensures patients' EMR is updated with medical information and demographics.
• Keeps patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and setup pending refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Orders and performs waived point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
