Job summary

Highmark Health's Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to support exam preparation and patient care. You will coordinate tasks under a provider's supervision, obtain vitals, document information, and screen for tobacco use and medications while following standardized workflows.

You may assist with screenings, update medication lists in the EHR, and help with back-office testing and room readiness. Occasional travel between AHN locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification within 120 days of hire; multiple certs accepted (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
• Preferred Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the provider.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Obtain vital signs and document patient information and history.
• Screen for tobacco use and medications; assist with depression screenings when applicable.
• Update medication lists in the EHR and review social history.
• Perform back-office testing and assist with procedures; document in the EHR.
