Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to coordinate patient care under provider supervision and support office operations. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, review histories, and assist with exams in a team-based clinical setting.

Responsibilities include updating medication lists in the EHR, completing wellness screenings, and performing back-office testing per AHN protocols. May travel between AHN locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program required.
• Must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 120 days if not already certified.
• CPR certification required (AHA).
• Background clearances required (Act 34/33/73 and FBI).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Record vital signs, patient history, tobacco and medication screening.
• Assist with depression screening tools if applicable.
• Complete annual wellness visit screenings.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR.
• Document in the EHR accurately and maintain records.
• Assist with examinations and procedures as needed.
• May serve as a scribe with training.
• Handle follow-up communications with patients as directed.
