Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to coordinate examinations, treatments and care planning under the direction of the provider. The role supports patient care and office operations, following established policies and workflows.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, updating histories, assisting with screenings and exams, maintaining supplies, documenting in the EHR, and ensuring proper prescription and order management across AHN sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification Requirements.
• Certified Medical Assistant (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA) accepted.
• Employees without above criteria may sit for a company proctored exam and certification within set timelines.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients according to workflows.
• Obtains vital signs and documents patient information and history.
• Reviews medication lists in the EHR and updates social history.
• Assists with screenings and annual wellness visits.
• Maintains inventory and ensures tools and supplies are stocked.
