Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Food Service Assistant in Minneapolis to support daily kitchen operations, meal preparation, and dining area upkeep in compliance with health requirements. The position is regular part-time (roughly 19 hours per week) with a pay rate of $18.50 to $19.02 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Six months experience with people in food service or similar environment.
• Ability to take directions and work in a fast-paced setting.
• Familiar with quantity food preparation, kitchen equipment, and sanitation.
• Pass background checks, pre-employment drug test, and meet driver qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional communication with staff and clients.
• Prepare facility meals, serve meals, and upkeep kitchen and dining areas.
• Monitor staff meals and manage dish-room cleanliness and organization.
• Assist volunteers and greet clients in a courteous manner.
• Drive a company vehicle to pick up and deliver meals and supplies as required.
