Job summary

Catholic Charities Twin Cities seeks a Kitchen Assistant at the St. Paul Opportunity Center to support in a 0.5 FTE, 20 hours/week role in a large-volume kitchen. Requires at least one year of food service in a commercial kitchen, ability to lift 50 pounds, and ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of food-service experience in a large-volume or commercial kitchen.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and clean commercial dishwashing equipment; maintain sanitation.
• Stock and rotate food supplies in storage areas.
• Attend trainings and staff development activities.
• Assist with kitchen maintenance and security of equipment and products per health standards.
• Wash dishes and pots; assist with dining-room setup and breakdown; serve meals as needed.
