Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide personal care for hospice patients in the home. The role is non-exempt and hours typically run Thu-Mon or Fri-Tue, 8am-5pm, with patients in a home setting.

The HHA helps with hygiene, meals, mobility, and basic treatments under nurse supervision. Documentation, safety, and infection control are part of daily duties in this compassionate care role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must meet Home Health Aide qualifications per CFR 484.4 and 484.36.
• Must have documented 75 hours of training as required by CFR.
• Must have completed a Competency Evaluation per CFR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene to maintain dignity.
• Plan and prepare meals; assist with feeding when needed.
• Assist patient ambulation and mobility as directed.
• Support with specified treatments under nurse supervision and plan of care.
• Record and monitor temperature, pulse and respiration.
