Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands‑on care to patients and support for their families during end‑of‑life care. This role focuses on assisting patients with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, and emotional well‑being as part of the hospice care team in Wheeling, WV.

Pay ranges from $14.00 to $22.60 per hour for full‑time employment.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) per state certification/registration requirements
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients
• Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics during care such as ambulation, transfers, ROM, positioning, and light household chores
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding
• Perform homemaking and environmental services as assigned
• Observe, report, and document changes in patient status and report to the nurse
• Follow written instructions for personal care from a registered nurse
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist
• Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
• Other duties as assigned
