Job summary

Bristol Hospice in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our hospice care team on a PRN hourly basis. The role acts under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver personal care and comfort to patients while supporting families.

Qualified candidates will hold a CNA license, CPR, valid driver’s license, and preferably 1 year of hospice or community health experience. California HHA requirements apply to CA residents.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing.
• California regulation: must have a current HHA certification in CA.
• Preferred 1 year experience in community health/hospice or medical/surgical environments.
• Completed minimum 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured as required.
• Willingness to submit to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care including baths, oral hygiene, hair care, and changing bed linens as assigned.
• Assist in dressing and feeding patients as needed.
• Take and record vital signs when ordered.
• Provide support with ambulation and transfers.
• Provide respite for patient’s family/caregiver when on-site.
• Maintain patient living area in clean and orderly condition.
• Adhere to care plans, documentation standards, and professional conduct.
• Report significant changes to the Case Manager.
