Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One year of previous experience; current enrollment in an accredited nursing program accepted in lieu of experience. Hospice experience preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Hospice philosophy, oral/written communication, empathy, independence, safety with medications, PC use and electronic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care including baths, hygiene and grooming.
• Assists with feeding and mobility as directed by nursing staff.
• Takes and notes basic observations and reports changes to the supervising nurse.
• Maintains clean, safe patient environment and assists with activities of daily living.
• Supports patients and families with comfort and dignity within hospice care.
