Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a certified nursing assistant for hospice patient care in an inpatient facility in Baltimore, MD. Under RN supervision, the aide delivers personal care to patients, assists with daily living activities, and supports family caregivers as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related experience or enrollment in a nursing program, and compassionate care for dying patients. Proficiency with EMR and safety protocols is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience ( Hospice experience preferred).
• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program accepted in lieu of experience.
• Previous experience with dying patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care including baths, grooming, oral hygiene, and feeding as requested.
• Assist with bedpans/urinals and turning/positioning; keep patient room clean and orderly.
• Take and record vital signs as ordered and report changes to supervising nurse.
• Assist in ambulation and simple range-of-motion exercises as instructed.
• Provide respite for patient/family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate.
• Maintain safety and proper use of equipment (O2, rails, etc.).
• Maintain patient records and document care using electronic documentation.
