Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under RN supervision in an inpatient setting. The role focuses on personal care, comfort, and safety, including baths, feeding assistance, and basic daily activities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
One year of previous experience. Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program accepted in lieu of experience.
Hospice experience preferred. Previous experience with dying patients.

Responsibilities

Performs personal care needs by attending to patient/family requests promptly. Provides bedpan/urinal support and assists with baths, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linens.
Assists in feeding and helps with dressing the patient; meets safety needs and uses equipment safely.
Reports patient condition and significant changes to the supervising nurse; aware of caregiver/interpersonal issues.
Assists in ambulation and exercises as instructed by the Hospice Nurse or therapist.
Provides respite for patient/family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate.
