Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore is seeking a Hospice Aide to deliver compassionate patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Care needs and visit frequency are defined in the Hospice Aide Plan of Care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, is a Maryland-licensed CNA, and possesses strong communication, empathy, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with facility staff. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires CNA licensure with Maryland Board.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in acute or home care preferred.
• Valid driver''s license and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs personal care per Plan of Care and assists with daily living activities.
• Meets safety needs of patient and uses equipment safely.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals as assigned.
• Takes and records vital signs as ordered.
• Monitors skin condition to prevent breakdown.
• Reports patient condition and changes to supervising nurse.
• Assists with ambulation and exercises as instructed.
• Maintains a clean, orderly living area and light laundry as assigned.
• Provides respite for patient, family, or caregiver when on-site.
