Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore, MD seeks a Hospice Aide to deliver compassionate patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, feeding, mobility, and observation to report changes to the supervising nurse.

Requires a High School diploma or GED and Maryland CNA registration, plus valid driver’s license and vehicle. Prior acute or home care experience is preferred, with empathy and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Hospice Philosophy.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience handling death/dying care.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate with facility staff if applicable.
• Familiarity with handheld devices and electronic documentation.
• Demonstrates empathy for ill, injured, frail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care: baths, dressing, feeding.
• Ensure safety, operate equipment correctly.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals.
• Take vital signs as trained.
• Monitor skin integrity and report changes.
• Notify supervising nurse of patient condition.
• Assist with mobility and exercise as directed.
• Assist with light laundry and maintaining clean space.
• Support respite for patient/family/caregiver when on-site.
