Job summary

Optimal Care is seeking a Hospice Aide to provide hands-on support for patients in their homes, assisting with daily activities to maintain quality of life. The role requires reliable transportation and current nurse aide certification, with travel within the service area to patient homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.

Applicants should have 75 hours of classroom and supervised training, plus 16 hours of classroom before the 16 hours of practical training.

Qualifications

• Must hold current certification as a nurse aide and be in good standing on the state nurse aide registry.
• Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and valid automobile insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, meals, and mobility to support patients in home or facility settings.
• Provide compassionate care that preserves dignity and quality of life during end-of-life stages.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and supervisors, following English-written and verbal instructions.
