Job summary

Amedisys, Inc. is seeking a hospice aide to provide compassionate, in-home personal care and support for patients in the Newnan area. You will follow a plan of care, assist with daily living activities, prepare meals, and document patient changes in collaboration with licensed staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification as a nurse assistant per state requirements (CNA).
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients in home hospice.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics while assisting with activities of daily living.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and environmental tasks as needed.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions for care and prescribed exercises when instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
