Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a hospice aide to provide in-home personal care to patients in a full-time day position. You will assist with activities of daily living, meals, mobility, and essential care per the plan of care.

Responsibilities include reporting changes, following nurse instructions, and supporting patients with prescribed exercises to improve comfort and wellbeing. A valid CNA and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a current state CNA certification.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status.
• Follows instructions for care as outlined by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as directed by a nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
