Amedisys in Mobile, AL is hiring a full-time Hospice Aide to support patients at home, delivering compassionate personal care and clinical tasks under the nurse’s plan of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of personal and supportive care such as ambulation, transferring, ROM and positioning, and homemaking.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status and reports to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
