Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a hospice aide for full-time day shifts to provide compassionate personal care to patients in their homes. You will assist with daily living activities, meals, and light housekeeping under the direction of a registered nurse.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, current CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license. We offer competitive pay and generous benefits depending on location and shift.

Qualifications

CNA experience within the last two years is required.
Current CPR certification is required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current state nurse assistant certification/registration is required.

Responsibilities

Provides personal care services to patients.
Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care.
Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
Observes, reports and documents changes in patient status to the nurse.
Follows written care instructions from a registered nurse.
Assists patients with prescribed exercises as directed by the nurse or therapist.
Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Other duties as assigned.
