Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a dedicated hospice aide to provide compassionate personal care to patients in their homes. This full-time day schedule (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri) offers stability, competitive pay, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in patients' comfort and quality of life.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, observing patient status, following care plans, and reporting changes to the nurse.

Qualifications

Must have CNA license (state certification/registration).
CPR certification required.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
High school diploma or equivalent required; CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides personal care services to patients.
Applies safety principles and body mechanics during care, ambulation, transfers, ROM, and positioning.
Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status to the nurse.
Follows written care plans prepared by a registered nurse.
Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by the nurse or therapist.
Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Other duties as assigned.
