Job summary

Luminary Hospice is seeking a dedicated hospice aide to work under the supervision of a registered nurse, delivering essential personal care and comfort to patients in their homes. You will observe, report, and document patient status while promoting safety, dignity, and quality of life during end-of-life care.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication with patients and families, adherence to hospice philosophy, and collaboration with Case Managers to ensure continuity of care and timely

Qualifications

• Active STNA or CNA certification required in the state performing duties.
• Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and 16 hours of practical training (16 classroom hours mandatory).
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to read and follow written instructions.
• Must understand hospice philosophy and provide compassionate, terminally ill patient care.
• Satisfactory references from previous employers and a calm demeanor in patients' homes.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks and promptly respond to patient requests.
• Provide positive communication with patients and families while maintaining confidentiality.
• Ensure safety and proper use of equipment (foot stools, side rails, O2, etc.).
• Assist with bathing, dressing, meals, and basic daily activities as assigned.
• Record vital signs when ordered and document care performed.
• Assist in ambulation, transfers, and range of motion as directed by clinicians.
