Job summary

Luminary Hospice seeks a dedicated Hospice Aide to join our team under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will perform personal care tasks, observe and document patient conditions, and contribute to comfort and safety in the patient’s home.

The role requires active CNA/STNA certification, minimum training hours, and a calm, compassionate manner. You will need reliable transportation, CPR certification, and the ability to work with little supervision while upholding our compassionate care

Qualifications

• Active STNA or CNA certification in the state performing job duties.
• Minimum 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks after patient assignment and respond to requests promptly.
• Provide compassionate communication with patients and families.
• Ensure safety during care and use of equipment.
• Assist with baths, oral care, shampooing, and changing linens.
• Assist in dressing, undressing, and meals as assigned.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals as directed.
• Assist with feeding as needed.
• Record vital signs when ordered and document findings.
• Monitor skin condition and prevent tissue breakdown.
• Report changes in patient condition to Case Manager.
