Job summary

Luminary Hospice in Columbus, OH is seeking a compassionate hospice aide to work under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role includes observing and documenting patient care, providing personal care, and supporting families with sensitive communication.

The ideal candidate is a state-certified CNA/STNA with CPR, able to work with little supervision, and committed to maintaining patient dignity and comfort in end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Active STNA or CNA certification as required by state.
• Completion of 75 hours classroom and supervised training.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• CPR certification current.
• Empathy for ill and dying, with compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks and respond promptly to patient requests.
• Communicate with patient and family in a respectful, confidential manner.
• Ensure safety and proper use of equipment including beds, rails, and oxygen.
• Assist with baths, grooming, dressing, and transferring.
• Plan and assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Record vital signs as ordered and report changes to Case Manager.
• Assist with mobility, ROM, positioning, and transfers.
• Assist with medication reminders as allowed by state regulations.
• Maintain clean, comfortable living area and adhere to care procedures.
