Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health patients under the supervising Physical Therapist. You will provide treatment and patient education designed to improve well-being and adherence to the care plan.

This role requires following state laws, coordinating with the healthcare team, and delivering care in diverse home settings. Weekend rotation availability is required and CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance or access to public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home care physical therapy and act within the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and transfer techniques.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and care team.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy techniques within PTA scope.
• Function effectively in diverse home environments regardless of patient demographics.
