Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education within home care services. You will follow the plan of care and collaborate with the supervising PT to support patients' well-being across diverse communities.

Responsibilities include guiding patients in active and passive exercises, documenting responses, and ensuring safe mobility. Weekend availability and a valid state PTA license are required.

Qualifications

• Current license to assist in physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care; follow the plan of care as defined by the supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Instruct patient, family, and caregivers in therapy within the PT assistant scope.
• Function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
