Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home care for seniors, helping them stay at home and live better lives. Flexible 10–40 hour per week schedules are available with morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts.

Requirements include being at least 18, California Home Care Aide Registry registration, background check, and ability to follow care plans. No experience required; paid training provided and support with registration.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry; paid training provided.
• Completion of a criminal background check.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plans to complete paid training.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing as required by CA regulations.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Self-direction with ability to work with little supervision.
• Empathy for ill or frail individuals.
• Tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Help clients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).
• Assist with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing.
• Assist clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and ambulation.
• Assist with prescribed exercises taught by health personnel.
• Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets.
• Assist clients to the bathroom or with commodes and incontinence care.
• Perform household tasks and companionship.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Report changes to the administrator or care designer.
• Complete service records and drive to appointments.
