Job summary

Nurse Next Door seeks compassionate caregivers to provide nonmedical in-home care to seniors, helping them stay at home. Positions offer flexible 10–40 hour weekly schedules, with morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts.

Candidates must be 18+, pass background checks, and obtain CA Home Care Aide Registry registration; paid training is provided to assist with registration. Caregivers perform ADL support, meal prep, transportation, and companionship, while documenting care and following

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Current registration with the State of California Home Care Aide Registry.
• Criminal background check completed with no disqualifying history.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training before client care.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing and no active disease.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with activities of daily living within scope for a health aide.
• Help with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing.
• Assist with transfers, positioning and ambulation as needed.
• Support prescribed exercises taught by health professionals.
• Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform household tasks and provide companionship.
• Remind and monitor medication self-administration as appropriate.
• Report changes to the administrator or care designer.
• Complete service records and document hours worked.
• Drive to appointments or run errands as required.
• Remain alert and respond to client needs during shift.
• Participate in entry-level and annual training requirements.
• Maintain active home care aide registration with CA state.
