Job summary

Addus Homecare is urgently hiring Home Care Aides (HCA) to support seniors and disabled clients living in their own homes across Bernalillo, Edgewood, Rio Rancho and surrounding areas in New Mexico. The Home Care Aide - Core is on call 5 days per week with 40 hours weekly (20 guaranteed).

You will follow care plans, assist with daily tasks, and help clients maintain independent living. The role requires compassionate, reliable individuals willing to work on a schedule set by a supervisor,

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if driving, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Nurturing and compassionate by nature.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized.
• 5 days per week, including at least one weekend day.
• 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed).

Responsibilities

• Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor visits, groceries and other errands.
• Assist client with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition.
