Job summary

Addus Homecare in New Mexico is urgently seeking Flex Home Care Aides to join a dedicated team serving seniors and people with disabilities at home. The Home Care Aide - Core will be on call for five days weekly, with 40 hours total and at least one weekend day; assignments are determined by the supervisor and cannot be refused.

Key duties include following care plans, assisting with personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, transporting clients to appointments, and supporting medication

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• On call for 24 hour shifts.
• 40 Hours per week (5 days; include a weekend day).

Responsibilities

• Call into the office every morning for assignment.
• Follow care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor's appointments, grocery store and other errands.
• Assist client with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client's condition.
