Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group is seeking a part-time Funeral Assistant/Attendant to support funeral directors, assist families, and help with funeral, memorial, and other services. You will handle transport, preparation, and coordination for services, visitations, and related activities.

The role requires a high school diploma, computer use, MS Office, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and pull/push 200 lbs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to use a computer and type.
Proficient in MS Office; willingness to learn other software.
Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Able to work and communicate effectively with others.
Able to maintain composure in challenging situations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and pull/push 200 lbs or more.
Able to pass a Background Check.

Responsibilities

Assist with removals of decedents (varies by location).
Prepare, dress, and place decedents into casket.
Prepare for services with floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other keepsakes.
Prepare documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance.
Perform office duties and basic administrative tasks.
Run errands and transport items as needed.
Serve as an usher, assist with parking and transportation requirements.
Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
Assist with visitations, memorials, and services, including chapel setup and delivery of family items.
Greet families and provide information and support.
