Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group in Birmingham, AL is seeking a part-time Funeral Assistant / Attendant to support funeral directors and assist with services, transport of decedents, and coordinating preparations.

You will answer phones, handle administrative tasks, greet families, and help with removals, set up for services, and drive company vehicles as needed. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and pass a background check; occasional evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in MS Office; ability to learn other software.
• Valid state driver''s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to maintain composure in challenging situations.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull 200 lbs or more if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with removals of decedents and preparation for services.
• Support funeral directors and families during services and visitations.
• Answer phones and perform basic office duties.
• Transport decedents and drive funeral home vehicles as needed.
• Arrange floral, casket, urns and keepsakes for services.
• Greet families and provide information and assistance as required.
