Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a part-time Funeral Services Assistant in Yakima, WA to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations. You will greet families, answer questions, and assist with services, visitations, and ceremonies while ensuring compassionate service and adherence to policy.

The role requires a high school diploma, customer service experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and databases; ability and willingness to learn required.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
• High level of compassion and integrity.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional behaviors and team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services to include delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other keepsakes.
• Ensures proper care and storage of items.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Performs office duties such as answering phones, operating messsaging devices and other equipment.
• Run errands for floral delivery and supplies.
• Serves as an usher and may park cars or handle transportation.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services; setup and dressing of remains.
• Greet and assist client families and others entering the office.
• Accommodate family needs during service/visitation.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles as required.
