Job summary

Carriage Services is seeking a part-time Funeral Assistant at the New Orleans Care Center to support Funeral Directors and staff. You will greet families, escort guests, manage guest books and memorialization materials, and assist with service logistics in a compassionate, professional manner.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication, and the ability to empathize with grieving families while maintaining safety and decorum during visitations and ceremonies.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs client families and their guests at the funeral home.
• Escorts client families and their guests to the correct chapel or parlor.
• Directs visitors to guest books and distributes memorialization materials as needed.
• Answers questions and assists with serving the needs of client families and guests.
• Represents the business in a professional and caring manner, maintaining a neat appearance.
• Assists with duties such as receiving flowers and preparing spaces for services.
