Carriage Services is seeking a Part-Time Funeral Assistant to support Funeral Directors and location staff at Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home. The role focuses on helping families during visitation and memorialization, greeting guests, guiding them to appropriate spaces, and ensuring comfortable, organized environments.

The position emphasizes compassionate client service, tactful communication, and the ability to balance duties in a sensitive setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Empathize with client families and their guests in emotionally charged situations.
• Demonstrate tact and patience in interactions with families and guests.

Responsibilities

• Actively serves as an ambassador of the business in the community to build trust and loyalty.
• Greets and directs client families and their guests at the funeral home.
• Escorts client families to the correct chapel or parlor where services are being held.
• Directs visitors to guest book and distributes memorialization materials as needed.
• Answers questions and assists with serving the needs of families and guests during visitation and memorialization events.
• Represents the business professionally and with honest, ethical conduct.
• Receives and places flowers in chapels or parlors.
• Ensures refreshments are available to client families and guests.
• Prepares public spaces prior to scheduled services; performs other duties as assigned.
