Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in healthcare or an institutional setting.
• Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team; strong written and verbal skills.
• Working knowledge of patient registration systems and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and serve as the first point of contact in the ED.
• Gather complete demographic, financial and insurance information and enter into the registration system.
• Obtain signatures and explain billing processes to patients.
• Assist with directions and general hospital information for patients and families.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance while coordinating with departments.
