Wellstar Health System is seeking a Registration Specialist to support daily operations and guide staff. The role includes collecting patient liability, verifying demographics and insurance, and routing uninsured patients to financial counseling.

You will help ensure accurate deposits and maintain compliance with EMTALA and related policies. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years in healthcare registration or patient-facing customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years registration or face-to-face customer service in a healthcare setting.
• Preferred 3 years registration or face-to-face customer service in healthcare.
• All certifications required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Responsabilités

• Assist management with daily operations and staff mentoring.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information; obtain and document eligibility.
• Balance liability collections and reconcile deposits; ensure accurate daily reconciliations.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate with provider availability; obtain authorizations as needed.
• Ensure EMTALA compliance and facilitate financial counseling for patients.
