Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.

You will help clients build daily living skills, participate in community activities, and work toward personal goals. Paid training, benefits, and career development opportunities are available; flexible scheduling and competitive pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent or state-approved training.
• Pass required written competency test or demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow each Individual Support Plan.
• Document updates, progress, and concerns.
• Assist with daily living activities (cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, transportation).
• Encourage participation in shopping, events, appointments, and community activities.
• Support personal goals and independence.
• Promote dignity, respect, and self-advocacy.
• Accurately document services and progress.
• Communicate with team for consistent, high-quality support.
