Job summary

PruittHealth in Georgia-Greenville is seeking a Dietary Service aide to assist with food preparation and meal delivery for patients and residents. You will follow dietary orders, support cooks, and maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.

The role involves delivering trays, assisting with meal service, preparing nourishments, and ensuring good communication with patients and families. On-the-job training is provided and prior food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education Required: Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• Minimum Experience Required: None, on-the-job training is provided.
• ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Previous food service and/or food preparation experience preferred, long term care dietary experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows diet orders and NPO diet orders.
• Assists cook in preparing meals, desserts and/or snacks for patients/residents.
• Uses proper food handling processes, procedures and policies.
• Delivers trays to patients/residents on halls.
• Delivers and serves meals to patients/residents in dining area; food and beverages.
• Prepares between-meal nourishments and serves in accordance with procedural guidelines.
• Offers menu substitutions and records them in accordance with procedural guidelines.
• Follows procedures for serving partner meals.
• Communicates well with patients/residents/clients and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, patients/residents/clients and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor.
